    Sharepoint Integration

Is there a way to hyperlink to documents sitting on a Sharepoint Server?

    Yes [Y] Re: Sharepoint Integration

Absolutely, you can include a custom field at the project level for the URL to your SharePoint server or use a dynamic application (attached) to track your external documents.

    Hi John,

I'm also interested in integrating with SharePoint.  Unfortunately we have a problem because URL custom fields appear to be limited to 100 characters. The way my corporate SharePoint site is set up - with lots of layers - practically no document can be addressed in under 100 characters. Contributing to this is that each "space" in the URL takes three characters ("%20").

Any chance this field will be expanded in the new release???

    John,

Thank you for your suggestion. Your solutiuon worked.

Just as eProject users have access to documents on Sharepoint, can non eProject users access documents stored in eProject? We have a need for that as well.

    Dave,

That sounds like a good feature request.  I would just use a long text field for now and copy and paste the URL into your Address field of your browser.

    Re: Sharepoint Integration

    Hi

We found the same problem with the limitation of 100 characters on custom fields of type text - hyperlink. I raised this to Daptiv when we first found it eProject Case 00025295 and it was scheduled to be resolved in the Autumn release. However it subsequently got rescheduled to the Winter release and we don't have a date for that yet.

As a workaround we are using tinyurl.com to generate alias URLs for our Sharepoint document URLs and then entering the tiny url into the custom field.

Any updates on Sharepoint integration? Has Daptiv produced a whitepaper?
