    Integration with JIRA

Our development team uses JIRA as an issue tracking tool. (http://www.jira.com/). They won't move to Daptiv for several reasons. Does anyone have experience getting Daptiv and JIRA to update each other?

    Re: Integration with JIRA

Our Infrastructure Development Team uses JIRA to manage projects (they've added a number of custom fields to handle this).  As we try to move the rest of our organization to Daptiv, this group is pushing back on dropping JIRA and has even dedicated some development time to automating a JIRA to Daptiv dump (JIRA -> OmniPlan -> MS Project -> Daptiv).  It seams that OmniPlan understands JIRA's output a whole lot better than MS Project and Daptiv will only accept an MPD file, which we can't get out of OmniPlan or JIRA.

Now that I've outlined what this team is doing, I have to say that it is really not the best solution in the world -- simply a work-around for folks who don't want to migrate off of their current tool.  I'd be interested to hear if others have gotten involved with JIRA at all.

    Re: Integration with JIRA

What kind of information would you want to share between Dapiv and JIRA?  I previously worked with a Daptiv customer who was running into difficulties fully replacing JIRA functionality with Daptiv.  Can you share a little bit about how you're using JIRA today and what kinds of issues you're having to overcome?

    Thanks!

    Re: Integration with JIRA

For starters I would like to be able to do issue management exchange (Daptiv and JIRA can update each other) and eventually go from there. It could be done in batch if needed, but ideally it would be real time. I have been given the JIRA mappings as a start. Don't know where to go from there.

    David,

We now offer Daptiv Connect with over 150 preconfigured API connections to applications from Daptiv.  I am sure JIRA can be accomodated for API connection and mapping of data.

    Re: Integration with JIRA

John has already jumped on this regardign the Daptiv Connect service, and after a quick cruise of JIRA's forums, it looks like it should be possible to create some kind of bi-directional web services connection to Daptiv.

JIRA's API docs are at: http://docs.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/api/latest/

You can find the Daptiv docs in the Admin area under the Utilities section.

Please follow up with what you find out!

This is found in the system administration window.  If you don't have access to this area, please check with your system administrator.
