    Auto Estimate within Capacity Planner

Is there a way to have Capacity Planner predict when a project could start based on the Resources Required and their current availability?

So, If I needed 3 developer (30 hours each) for 3 months and 1 DBA (10 hours) for 2 months in a particular order, I should be able to plug that in somewhere (most likely capacity planner) and it will tell me when this criteria could be fullfilled (and when the month the project could start).

    Anyone have any thoughts?

Unless I am mistaken with your question, that's what the Capacity planner does (minus automation).  Perhaps you migh want to speak with your sales rep about a demonstration of the Capacity Planner in full.

The short of it is that you use your example above, plug the numbers in and in the CP below where the Net Availability area is for those resources you would see if you have enough capacity.  If not, simply click and drag the project to the right to the next month where there are no red numbers.
