    How to write a report in report builder to pull out timesheet task entries by project???

    Hello,

    Does anyone know how to create a report in report builder that will show me the timesheet entries for each user on each task by project?

     All Items come from the main Timesheets Folder:

    • Task Work Entry group: Project Name, Work Entry Created On, Hours Worked (and any other desired info)
    • Timesheets group: Timesheet Owner
    • Timesheet Tasks group: Task Name

    Drag them in this order (for easier grouping):

    1. Project Name
    2. Timesheet owner
    3. Task Name
    4. Work Entry Created On
    5. Hours Worked
    6. (any other data at the entry level)

    Group in this order:

    1. Click Projects, Click Group
    2. Click Timesheet Owner, Click Group

     

    What you have left are individul entries, with totals if you pulled in a numeric field.

    Hi Steve, Thanks for the repy..

     I have created what you have suggested however the Timesheet entry date reflects the date in which they entered in their timesheets and I am after how many hours were recorded and on what day for each task within a project? This is because each resourse may not update their timesheets untill the end of the week or even every 2 weeks.

     I hope this makes sense and I look forward to your responce.

    The date field you probably want to use is "Work Entry Day" rather than "Work Entry Created On."  Unless I'm mistaken, the Work Entry Day is the calendar day the Task Hours are reported against the task, where Work Entry Created On is the day the work entry was (obviously) created.

    This way, if a Work Entry record for work done on Wednesday the 8th was created at Friday the 10th, the dates should reflect accordingly.  This should break down the work entries by the day the hours were worked rather than the day the work was actually entered in the system.
