What kind of documents does Daptiv allow content searches for?

Daptiv's search function (using refine search) allows searches of the contents of MS Word (.doc) documents that are uploaded into a project document application.  What other document types are searchable within Daptiv? mpp? xls? Others?

going from recollection (of many years ago) that it is searching contents of .txt, .xls (and/or .csv) and .doc

Where would I go to find the full list?

Also, are there plans to add new file types, such as the new MS Office 2007 file types (e.g., .docx) and MS Project files?

We particularly need searching on .pdf files, which don't appear to be searchable now, as well as mpp, xls.

Another question: Is there the possibility to set up Google Search on these documents?  Google Search has the needed file types covered.

How would you invoke a Google search inside of a SaaS solution?

Google search is only mentioned as a thought for how to get around indexing limitations of Daptiv.  Best would be to eliminate those limitations, of course, but I'm sure Daptiv has much else ahead of that on the roadmap.

I'm hardly the expert at how a Google or alternative 3rd party search solution might be used, and it hinges on how Daptiv's data is organized, but perhaps: 1) if there is a project or enterprise specific folder on Daptiv server (likely there isn't one, however) and we knew our document folder's URL, then Google on our PCs could index the files. Or, better yet,  2) perhaps google search (or an alternative) could be added from Daptiv's end and implemented on its servers.  Everything in an enterprise would be indexed by Google search, but views of search results would be filtered so a given user only sees those they have viewing rights to.

Quite probably neither of these solutions makes sense technically...if that is the case, what are other options?
