We have created templates to create projects from and unfortunately the "Billable" option was not checked on any of the tasks on the templates initially.  We have used these templates to generate numerous projects before it was detected.  We have made corrections to the templates so that any projects generated going forward will have the tasks accurately marked as billable.  However, is there any way to "blanket" check the billable option on tasks on the projects that have already been generated from these templates?  We have a large amount of projects that were already created, with a large quantity of tasks per project, so having to manually check the billable option is daunting.

Unfortunately this will have to be a manual process on a Task by Task basis.  You can at least create a view that only shows those tasks that need to be changed (filter in billable = no) and line change them one by one. 

....Yes, we are looking at incorporating a "bulk edit" feature which is on the road map for this year however it is not currently available.

As Steve noted, this is a feature we are looking to develop in the future, but please take a moment to submit an enhancement request via the support form at: http://www.eproject.com/support/request_form.htm.

Select "Feature Request" as the request Type, and note the specific reason you need the feature.  The more real-world use cases we have that we can associate with users of the application, the better we can define the solution when we start developing it.

We definitely see the need for the functionality you've described. We have addressed similar issues with enterprise User Management, and the ability to bulk-edit enterprise users (examples like changing department, supervisor, etc. for a large group of users to a single value) to help enterprise administrators save time. This functionality will be released in our fall release. We hope to resolve similar scenarios with tasks and other items shortly after that, possibly winter.

If you would like to help us address these scenarios more quickly, I would find it very helpful to better understand your experience with the product and how you envision the "solution" for bulk-editing tasks and possibly other item types would work. Would you want to just change values of a specific field (e.g. Billable) for multiple tasks to a single value for all selected tasks? Or would you want something more flexible to address a wider-range of scenarios, like being able to export data from eProject (tasks, projects, whatever) into a spreadsheet, edit the spreadsheet, and quickly re-import those changes? For us, making the right decisions in *how* we improve your user experience is very important, and your opinions will make a difference.

I just got burned by this one too.  It seems people have been complaining about this for over a year.
