    Using Departments

what is the benefit of using Departments in eProject?  Are access rights different by department?  Does it separate views and reports by Department?

    thanks!

    Re: Using Departments

As far as I know, there isn't any significant advantage at the moment. It could be great however to be able to use this information in reports !

I'm very interested for instance by costs reports by resource type / departement on any project...

Departments can be used in grouping and sorting as well as when you are finding resources and reporting.  As with many fields, you are limited only by your imagination.

Sure, either in Crystal, in custom reports, or in views, you can group and sort.  The Department field is a natural to group or sort on.

I'm sorry but I don't see any Department field in group or sort options for my customs views. Is there anything special to configure to make them appear ?!
