We use a lot of contracted resources, including contracted PMs. We want to use rates (internal & external) but need to keep them confidential so that competing contractors cannot view each others' rates. Is this possible?

(We've thought of using a user-defined field, but don't want to complicate how Labor Revenues and Costs are calculated.)

Thanks for the quick reply. It sounds like exactlyy what I'm looking for, but unfortunately I don't see that permission when I look at our Roles. Under Projects, we have only "Create New, Create Top Level, Can Create Project Without a Template, and Create Custom Views". (We're using PPM6, hosted at eProject.)

Are we missing something?

That's right John, and thanks for pointing it out.

We figure that if we've hired someone to work as a PM, then they'll have to know the rates of anyone (contractors or otherwise) they're managing on their project.

So we're forced to limit our concern to restricting contractors from seeing rates of other contractors on projects other than the ones they manage. (We also have to ensure that contractors cannot see the task cost info for projects in which they are Members or Guests, for exactly the reason you mentioned.)
