Survey Responses Needs - From experienced Project Managers of software development initiatives

I am conducting a survey to support production of a dissertation paper (for a MSC IT degree) which considers the application of formal 'rigid' project management methods over modern 'agile' software engineering initiatives.

The dissertation considers the challenges faced by the application of traditional formal 'rigid' project management methods over a software development project involving modern 'agile' software development methods, and explores the benefits of employing programme management techniques to manage a series of projects overseeing and iterative and cyclical development and delivery lifecycle.

I am particular interested in obtaining responses from project managers that have experience in managing software development initiatives, please find below a link to the survey, which should not take any more than 10 minutes to complete.

    http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=596503057520

I will be posting feedback from the results of this survey and an additional software engineers survey that considers the challenges from this additional perspective. The findings and hopefully positive contribution that could be made by the use of programmes I also hope to be able to share, discuss and develop further through these forums.

Many thanks in anticipation for your participation.

Re: Survey Help - From experienced Project Managers of software development initiatives

For the readers of this thread a couple of questions.

I am not getting the number of responses to the survey I was hoping for, is this because there are not many project managers with experience in managing software development projects?

or is it that the survey itself is too specialised?

Are there any other PM forums that anybody can recommend to try and solicit some more responses?

I did reply.  Here is another suggestion, go to other PMI sites and post your survey.  I know if you go to my PMI site you will get some response.   Go to http://www.pugetsoundpmi.org and post your survey (you may need to send this to board@pugetsoundpmi.org).
