Setting a project as the default start page for another user?

We have several customers that we grant access to our eProject site only for a particular project that they are involved in. We want them to be able to just see documents and tasks related to that one project only. There is no need to give them any Enterprise privileges since they will never be given access to more than the one project. So, I 've created an Enterprise Role with access to no Enterprise Tabs. And the Project Role is based on the Guest Role.

The big question is how do I set the project to which they are invited as the default project so that when the log in the first time, they automatically see the details page of the project? I know they can do that themselves, but w're trying to make it as easy as possible for them to access details related to the project. We're just trying to make it as simple as possible with as few mouse clicks as possible for them to log in and view documents and tasks related to the one project.

Any help you can provide is most appreciated.

    Thanks and happy holidays!

The details screen can not be made a default.  Only the list view of any Tab can be set to defaulted views and values.

I suggest setting up a "Guest" style view for the Tasks and Documents tab only, and turn off all other tabs for that Guest Profile and enable only those Guest Style views for the Guest profile.  They will only see content from project(s) they're a member to.

Generally your guests shouldnt need the Projects tab if they can get to the content.  Is this your case?

Maybe I'm stuck in the eProject 5.0 mentality, but I was trying to set the user's start page to the project that they had been invited to. This would give them one landing page from which they could view basic project information (profile, status, next 5 milestones), and then access additional information (documents, calendar, etc).

So when the person logs in, they would be shown the project profile, status, next 5 milestones, etc. They could then select from the menu options down the left side to view Calendar, Documents, Tasks, etc.

    Is this configuration possible?

    Will,

Absolutely.  Instruct each project team member to click on Page Options when in the project and select the project as their start page.  It works well and can be changed at any time.

John is right however it requires the user to set the start page, it can not be pushed from the admin zone.  There is no way currently to push a user's default start page to the Project Dashboard.

Part of it is getting away from the 5.0 mindset but your particular need requires they see that Project Dashboard so you're stuck, a little.

When we remove the Executive "View All Projects" view in an upcoming release, I would suggest you give them access as an Executive Profile that has been stripped down.  This way they could click on their one project and see all of the high level things you want them to see without being bogged down by other non-essential applications or getting notifications from team members doing work in the project.

Are you really removing the Executive View? That is a huge feature for our users. I must be misinterpreting this, why would you remove key features. Please explain.

We are not removing the Executive Tab, we are removing a hard coded view within the tab.  No customer will be negatively impacted by this change.
