Currently, we use an Outlook Public Folder with a calendar for an overview on our release management activity.  For a number of reasons, I am not a fan for for using Outlook calendaring in this fashion (by no means am I anti-Outlook).   My take is that Daptiv is not ready for release management calendaring functionality and I am posting this to see if others agree or if they are using  Daptiv for RM.  I did briefly look at the documentation for the DA (http://community.daptiv.com/solutionsLibrary/folders/dynamic_apps/entry5533.aspx) that's in the library.  However, to go from this DA to providing a calendar seems like it would be a stretch of work.

 So, basicallly, I am just thinking out loud here and am interested in other folks input.

Since each activity has a date associated, it isn't hard to go from a DA to a Cross-Tab report giving all release activities and detailed information by date.  I didn't build out the DA very much, but it could include a lot of release management information and can be presented in a linear fashion.  I can't do a calendar output, but I can give it to you in date order.

..and therein lies the rub.  Upper managements like the simplicity of the calendar format.  If Cognos ever develops this capability....
