    Deskdocs for Mac Users

Where can users of the MAC go to download deskdocs. We have several designers that need to access DAPTIV from the MAC side rather than the PC side. Seems like all we can download within DAPTIV is an .exe file.

You can use Deskdocs on the Mac (I do) but the setup process is manual (the .exe file simply automates the setup for Windows). I pulled the following instructions from the Daptiv PPM Help. The topic is titled "Manually Configuring DeskDocs" if you need more information.

Manually Configuring Macintosh OS X for DeskDocs:

    1. In the Finder, click Go.
    2. Click Connect to Server.
The Connect to Server dialog displays.
    3. In the Server Address box, type the URL of your Daptiv PPM server, followed by /Deskdocs.

In most cases this URL is: https://login.daptiv.com/deskdocs

For some customers the URL is: https://companyname.daptiv.com/deskdocs. If you know you are an on-site Daptiv customer, or if this URL does not work for you, contact your Daptiv PPM administrator for the correct URL or login to Daptiv PPM and check your URL.

Note: You must use a secure connection (https) for DeskDocs to work. If you use an http preface to the URL, the server will refuse the connection.

    1. Click Connect to connect to the DeskDocs server. This establishes your DeskDocs connection and creates a network icon that takes you to your enterprise and any available document folders and documents.

Just a slight clarification to Eric's reply. The URL should actually be for your PPM server *after* you log in.

    From the revised Help:

    1. When prompted for an internet or network address, type the URL of your Daptiv PPM server, followed by /Deskdocs.

Note: In most cases this URL is: https://na0<x>.daptiv.com/deskdocs
where <x> is the number of the server in your URL after you log into PPM -- Example: https://na05.daptiv.com/deskdocs

You must use a secure connection (https) for DeskDocs to work. If you use an http preface to the URL, the server will refuse the connection.

    Re: Deskdocs Network connection problem

     Hi Paul,

I'm on a PC (Windows XP Pro) and Daptiv DeskDocs won't connect or install properly.

    Here's what I'm seeing:

    - The first dialog box I get is "Welcome to the Daptiv DeskDocs Installation Utility."

    - I connect successfully with this site URL: https://login.daptiv.com. Authentication type is Daptiv PPM, and I use my login email address and password (rgray@domain.com, etc.).

    - I click the install button, and an alert says that it was mapped correctly. (The url in the Network Places folder is correct according to the server my company uses:  https://na05.daptiv.com/DeskDocs/ )

-- A second dialog box appears: ''Connect to na05.daptiv.com" and prompts me for my user name and password. I use the same credentials (rgray and password). The dialog box refreshes and prompts again for the info; whether I enter it and click OK, or click cancel, the dialog box refreshes again 2 or 3 more times before returning an error message.

    - This last error message states, "You do not have permission to access this Web Folder location."

The "Download Utilities" option does show under profile name in the Web PPM. Can you tell me what's causing the problem?

    Thanks a lot,

    Rachelle
