We would like to get all our projects to be approved before started (through the project request application) but we would also like to create these projects from templates. How can we achieve this?

Onec you approve the project request and generate a project, you can select any template you have saved to apply to the new project.

 Could you tell me how to do this?  AsI couldnt find an "Apply Template" selection in the project menu

 The only way I managed to create project from template is through the "Templates" application and the only problem with this is that you can create a project without the project being approved and we wouldnt like our users to be able to do this.

When you create a project from a project request, you can select the appropriate template at that time.  There is no way to apply a template to an already-created project.

As long as the template(s) and project request types are related to the same project type, you should be good to go - selecting a template is the first section of the generate project page when creating a project from a Project Request.
