If you haven't discovered a solution here yet, I suggest exploring the use of conditional blocks. You may be able to write a condition where if no data is returned, it conditionally renders an image or text block with the desired message. I haven't experimented with this specific scenario, but the conditional rendering/formatting feature is generally a good solution for highlighting exceptional (or in this case non-existant) data.
