    Daptiv PPM and Task Assignments

    Hello,

Have used other project scheduling tools for the last 15 years but am new to Daptiv.  Does the concept of multiple, diverse task assignments exist in Daptiv?  I understand how we drive resource allocation by assigning a percentage of a resource's time to a task.  However, if I want to assign multiple resources to a task, and I want planned work for resource-A to equal 4h and planned work for resource-B to equal 10h, how can I accomplish this in Daptiv?

It appears that when assigning multiple resources to a task, Daptiv will evenly distribute planned work across all resources.  Is there a way to control this distribution by assigned resource?

    Appreciate any direction here.

    Thanks.

    Kalanik,

If you click on the resource name from the Gantt chart view, you will get the Allocation pop-up.  You can change the % allocation of the resource to the task.  With a little practice, you can equate % allocation to hours.

Thank you for the quick response.  I understand this but it would be nice if a future release of the tool could include functionality to automatically account for task assignments by hours.  The proj mgr is basically required to do the calc offline and then enter the appropriate %.  With resources that may adhere to different calendars (4h/day, 6h/day, 8h/day, 10h/day) , this becomes an extra step.  The calendar is set up based upon project hours per day, so it would make sense for assignment allocation to be based upon hours as well.  It is not a chore to do the calc for one task/assignment, but it amounts to a sizeable delay when having to do this across many.  If I've misunderstood something here, please let me know.  Thanks for listening.
