We have recently started implementing Daptiv with 20 of our employees using the system. We have a pilot project with members who are not out of those 20 & they wont be using Daptiv until we fully implement the system. (We have got licenses for them but they havent been sent a user name and password, they will be timesheet users only).

My question is: can I as a project manager or admin book time instead of these users on to this pilot project. So basically what I'd like to do is fill others timesheets.

I want this time to booked against specific tasks and then I want cost to be calculated using their rates not mine.

Yes, add the folks that you want to log time on behalf of as External Resources.  In the Admin zone select Resources>External Resources>Create/Import External Resources.  They look just like regular users but they can not log in and therefore do not take up a seat/license  .  You may opt to have them receive emails as well.

 Once External Resources are in the system you can then add them to projects and assign tasks to them.  As the PM you may update a task and select which External Resource you are logging time as.

 You may also update time via the timesheet but a permission on the back end must be checked - I will post up how to do so later today but that should get you going for now.

Can you explain what you mean, when you say "a permission on the back end must be checked" ?

 I was referring to the admin zone as the 'back end' of the system, and a permission within the timesheets rules of the User Settings area should be checked.

 As the PM I want to add time for a specific external resource but don't want this entered time to count towards my own productivty for that day/time period. I can search for the task in 'My Current Timesheet', but this doesn't allow me to enter time as the external resource. How do I add time against a task for that particular resource?
