So we have been using eProject for a while but are just now looking to tackle using transit.  We are still learning through several pilot projects with lots of questions and concerns.  One of the most significant is how actual work is being reported.

During sync, you see that actual work in ms project is not mapped to anything in eproject.  this does not seem like how it actually works though as in most cases, but not all for some reason, eproject does in fact update actual work in ms project based on time booked in eproject.  what we don't understand is why does it sometimes work and in some cases is does not.  along the same lines, it seems like transit maps actual % complete (based on time logging) to % complete in ms project and not % work complete.

 Has anyone figured this out?  Specifically the relationships between ms project and eproject for % complete and actual work.

Unless they have (very) recently made changes to the Project Transit tool and I managed to miss them, Actual Work is not currently one of the synchronized fields between Daptiv and MS Project.  If it appears to be happening sporadically, please contact our support team so they can help troubleshoot it.  For more information about what fields are synched, review the Synchronzing Tasks page in the Project Transit help file.

In Daptiv, % Complete is either manually modified by the assignee or project manager, or it is automatically calculated based on the Task ETC.  ETC will calculate % Complete based on actual work reported, but only if you are updating Tasks based on ETC.  If you have your system configured to track progress by % Complete, Daptiv does not calculate % of work complete.  Check your task progress tracking configuration (under Timesheet Properties in the Admin window) and ensure you are using ETC if you wish to track % of work completed.
